Negative, Glass-plate

Monochromatic glass-plate negative from the studio of Louis James Pesha depicting the bow and port side of the Pittsburgh Steamship Company freighter JAMES J. HILL, under steam. Ten figures are along the railing on the port side. The HILL has a deck house at midship. A man in a rowboat is in the foreground. A buoy and a tree-lined shoreline are visible in the background. "4067," was handwritten on the non-archival envelope which previously held the plate.
