Monochromatic glass-plate negative from the studio of Louis James Pesha taken of a photographic print of the starboard side of the Pittsburgh Steamship Company freighter JAMES J. HILL, under steam. A man walks along the main deck toward the bow. A tree-lined shoreline is visible in the background. "With deck house," and "4172," were printed on the non-archival envelope which previously held the place.
