Monochromatic glass-plate negative from the studio of Louis James Pesha taken of a photographic print of the port side of the Great Lakes and St. Lawrence Transportation Company freighter GEORGE C. HOWE, under steam. The deck is outfitted with three cranes. Two people are on the flying bridge. A tree-lined shoreline is visible in the background. "2944," was written on the non-archival envelope which previously housed the plate.
