Monochromatic glass-plate negative from the studio of Louis James Pesha depicting the bow and port side of the Great Lakes and St. Lawrence Transportation Company freighter JOHN LAMBERT, under steam. Two figures are on the flying bridge, and two others are on the main deck, where one is tying on untying a line attached to a rowboat holding a man in a bowler hat along the port side of the LAMBERT. near the stern. A buoy and a tree-lined shoreline are visible in the background. "2791," was handwritten on the non-archival envelope which previously held the plate.
