Monochromatic glass-plate negative from the studio of Louis James Pesha depicting the port side of the Milwaukee-Western Steamship Company freighter MANCHESTER, under steam. Two people are on deck at the bow, two more are on the flying bridge, and a fifth figure is near the stern. A small boat carrying two people is along the port side of the MANCHESTER. A tree-lined shoreline is visible in the background. The non-archival envelope which previously housed the plate included the following hand-written details:
