Monochromatic glass plate negative taken of a silouetted freighter, with its starboard side toward the camera, passing beneath a sunset on Lake St. Clair. "Sunset on St. Clair near Flats, Sept. 11, 1915," was handwritten on the envelope which previously held the negative.
