Monochromatic glass-plate negative from the studio of Louis James Pesha depicting the port side of the Detroit Steamship Company freighter CHAS. W. KOTCHER, under steam. A large group of men and women are gathered on the flying bridge, outside the pilothouse, and on the forecastle deck. A lone figure stands on the main deck, and three others are near the aft cabin. A tree-lined shoreline is visible in the background.
