Black and white negative and print of a photo taken overlooking the Hall of Industry within the Detroit Historical Museum. An island in the center of the exhibit space contains the Detroit history dioramas donated by the J.L. Hudson Company. The scene depicting Cadillac receiving the charter from Louis XIV is at the end of the island, facing the camera. At the lower left corner of the photo, a man sits in an early automobile. A covered wagon and three other early automobiles are displayed on the right, beyond several display panels. The American flag, the British Great Union Flag, and a flag with the Bourbon coat of arms representing France are hung along the far wall.
