Negative, Roll Film
One black and white 35 mm negative image (and one photographic print) of a residential area in the Black Bottom neighborhood that was located east of downtown Detroit. The view looks eastward along East Congress Street from Russell Street. One-story and two-story wood frame residential houses and businesses can be seen on both sides of the street. A Gulf gas station, located at the northwest corner of E. Congress and Russell Streets, can be seen at the right edge of the image. A Mohawk Vodka advertisement is painted on the sides of one of the buildings on the south side of the street. Downtown buildings are visible in the far background in the center area of the image including (left to right): the American Natural Resources Building, Guardian Building, and Penobscot Building.
