One black and white 35 mm negative image (and one photographic print) of a residential area in the Black Bottom neighborhood that was located east of downtown Detroit. The view looks westward along an alley that appears to be located in the vicinity of Russell Street just south of East Congress Street. Piles of debris, utility poles, wood frame sheds and houses, and a parked car can be seen in the foreground. The 40-story Guardian Building can be seen in the far background in the left center area of the image.
