Cabinet card bearing a sepia-toned head-and-shoulder portrait photograph of a ranking Detroit Fire Department firefighter, in profile facing the left. He has a moustache and goatee, and wears a kepi hat with two crossed bugles on its badge, with a double-breasted coat. The photo was previously housed on the right side of a three-part cardstock frame with alongside a photo of James Battle, and another ranking firefighter. "October 1881," is handwritten on the verso.
