Photo postcard bearing a sepia-toned photo taken in Europe during World War I of two small blocks of TNT and detonation mechanisms from a mine, plus a hand-drawn diagram added into the photograph of the mechanism. The lower detonation mechanism is intact, while the upper one is disassembled with parts of its pin and spring labeled 'A,' 'B,' and 'C.' The diagram at the upper right is labeled similarly, showing a cross-section of the mechanism. The card's verso is also labeled "Fig. 5" and "1014" in the lower right corner, and the lower left corner features a circular mark which reads, "R-T-O, 310-602, ENG'R'S." The verso is unused.
