Print. Black and white photographic print of a window display at the J.L. Hudson Company Department Store. Featured in the window is a large mural of Uncle Sam, nurses, factory workers, farmers, a priest, and all others helping with the war effort; the people are featured in front of a landscape background of various United States landmarks including the capitol dome, a bridge, and a city scape. Also, items from the Junior Red Cross contributions from art classes at the Detroit Public School are featured and include small trinkets, an afghan, drawings, toys, greetings cards, and hospital tray favors. Signage for the war effort at school is also affixed to the lower left side of the window. Signage featured in the lower foreground of the window reads, "Buy U.S. War Savings Bonds." The date, photographic sequence number, and photographer's name are featured on the bottom of the recto, "2-16-43; 18763-x; Davis B. Hillmer."
