Print. Black and white photographic print of a window display at the J.L. Hudson Company Department Store. Two mannequins, male and female are dressed in graduation ceremony caps and gowns. Images of are affixed to the rear of the display depicting students from the Quiz Kids Show, also in the ceremonial dress seated at desks with their names and ages prominently displayed. A letter from the mayor of the city of Detroit is centrally located in the central foreground and reads, "To the Children of Detroit and to their Parents: We are looking forward with eager anticipation to October 10, when The Quiz Kids will visit Detroit for their regular broadcast. They are making this personal visit to help in the sale of extra bonds in the Third War Loan Drive. It is reasonable to expect that the sale of extra War Bonds will be stimulated by the Quiz Kids show at the Masonic Temple. These bonds will serve as means of admission. Through a well-organized contest a Detroit youngster will be designated as a Detroit Quiz Kid, and will be a guest on that broadcast. We will be proud of the Quiz Kid selected for the honor to represent our city. I know that we have many eligible young Detroiters. I urge them to enter the contest. Signed Edward Jeffries, Mayor." Signage affixed to the front of the display reads, "Buy U.S. War Savings Bonds, Immediate Delivery, WAR BONDS, 11th Floor, Woodward, Section D." The date and photographic sequence number are printed on the bottom of the recto, "9-23-43; 18881-2x."
