The handling of mail must now be done to a great extent by inexperienced help. Many of these new clerks are High School students on only part time basis. Use of the new numbering plan of addressing mail which calls for the appearance of the delivery unit number after the name of the city provides an opportunity for these new clerks to handle the mail as rapidly as experience clerks were able to do formerly. Mr. Huston urges all mailers to first determine their correct delivery unit number and then instruct their friends and relatives to use it when directing mail to them. Your mail carrier can advise you of the correct number to use. Man an effort to address all mail to large cities in this manner. The approaching holiday season will mean huge volumes of mail. Now is the time to learn the unit number of your friends and to advise your number. Make it a habit now and your mail will without question be more properly handled."
