Print. Black and white photographic print of a window display at the J.L. Hudson Company Department Store. A large sculpture of an eagle, which wings spread open, is perched upon a ball and column. Affixed to the rear wall are portraits of leaders including Winston Churchill and Chaing Kai-Shek, as well as the average man working toward the war effort; a quotation from President Franklin D. Roosevelt is also affixed to the wall. Signage affixed to the column of the eagle reads, "A message to Americans on the Home Front, 'Put every last dine and dollar you can possibly afford into WAR BONDS' Then maybe they'll come back sooner..." Also, affixed signage in the bottom foreground of the window reads, "Buy U.S. War Savings Bonds, Immediate Delivery, WAR BONDS, 11th Floor, Woodward, Section D." The date and photographic sequence number are printed on the bottom of the image, "8-16-43; 18865-x."
