Print. Black and white photographic print of a window display at J.L. Hudson Company Department Store. Two male mannequins, dressed in military service uniforms are featured holding packages, a large piece of driftwood is positioned vertically between the two men and an affixed sign reads, "Save Waste Paper Folks," various other packages are also featured on the ground surrounding the men. A large mural behind the mannequins features a beach scene with a soldier in the water collecting packages as they drift to shore; greenery is featured on both sides of the display. Signage affixed to the left side of the greenery reads, "During invasion of enemy territory huge quantities of PAPER containers are thrown overboard from Cargo whips and Transports eliminating the use of small boats. The waste paper you save which later is made into Waterproof Cartons is one of the contributing factors to the success of these operations. SAVE SAVE SAVE; Call Randolph8282 to sell or give WASTE PAPER." Also, affixed signage on the bottom foreground of the window reads, "Buy U.S. War Savings Bonds, Immediate Delivery, WAR BONDS, 11th Floor, Woodward, Section D." The date, photographic sequence number, and photographer's name are printed on the bottom of the recto, "10-41-43; 18892; Davis B. Hillmer."
