Print. (2 Copies.) Black and white photographic print of a window display at J.L. Hudson Company Department Store. An oil painting of Dr. Merton S. Rice, by John S. Coppin is displayed in the center of the window. Copies of Dr. Rice's book, "My Father's World" and copies of the book, "A Man Stood Up to Preach" by Dr. Edgar DeWitt Jones are featured throughout. Signage adjacent to the painting read, "Two Books of Interest to Detroiters, 'My Father's World' by Dr. Merton S. Rice, The Final Writings of one of the best-loved preachers of our generation, $1.75, 'A Man Stood Up to Preach' by Dr. Edgar Dewitt Jones, His Eighth Volume of sermons including the sermon delivered as a memorial to Dr. Rice, $2.00." Affixed to the bottom foreground of the window is signage which reads, "Buy U.S. War Savings Bonds, Immediate Delivery, WAR BONDS, 11th Floor, Woodward, Section D."
