A close-up view of a that now-famous Packard Twelve--the first car to make an official crossing of the San-Francisco Bay Bridge. It is pictured here at the toll gate, ready for its memorable trip across the wide waters of San Francisco Bay, and behind it are thousands of cars, waiting for the 'Go' signal from President Roosevelt which was the official opening of this greatest of engineering projects.
