A large sheet of Japanese War Bonds is featured at the center of the display flanked by the heads of General Tomoyuki Yamashita (left) and Prime Minister Hideki Tojo (right); signage affixed to the rear of the display are above the way bonds reads, "Our Enemy THE JAP - is backed by War Bonds too!" Also, signage adjacent to Prime Minister Tojo and a Japanese War Bond reads, "THIS JAP WAR BOND IS GENUINE! Jap civilians are buying them by the thousands to finance Jap conquests! *Issued by the post office... *It is worth 25 Yen ($6.40). *Issued in the year 2600 (1940). *Matures in 1953... *Portrait is of Minister of Finance. *Each coupon worth 43 Sen ($.08). *1 Coupon matures every 6 months. *Cannot be redeemed until ten years from date of issue." Images on the far left of the display feature the, "Jap Treachery and Brutal Conquest Were Financed by Jap War Bonds." Affixed to the foreground of the display signage reads, "Four Freedoms War Bond Show, Auditorium, 12th Floor." The photographic sequence number and photographer's name are printed on the bottom of the recto, "13x; Davis B. Hillmer."
Photograph of the "Four Freedoms War Bond Show" on exhibit at Hudson's department store in downtown Detroit. The paintings "The Four Freedoms" were commissioned and prints were made from them to raise money for war bonds. The paintings were exhibited at Hudson's from September 27th to October 9th 1943.
