One sepia-toned photograph showing workers of the SS Noronic on strike in Thorold, Ontario. The view looks downward from one of the decks on the ship and shows a group of about 25 workers who are standing on shore in a loosely-formed circle near the side of a warehouse building. One worker near the center of the group is playing a guitar. Handwritten text along the top edge of the photo shows "Crew on Strike." Handwritten text on the verso shows May, 1946, Noronic crew on strike." The SS Noronic was a passenger steamship of the Northern Navigation Division of Canada Steamship Lines.
