One black and white photograph showing the celebration in Detroit at the end of World War II. The elevated view looks northeastward across Woodward Avenue and shows the Campus Martius area in the foreground with Woodward Avenue, streetcars, and many pedestrians, as well as a large model patrol gunboat to promote the sale of war bonds. Retail stores are visible in the left background including Bond Clothes, Sam's Cut Rate, Inc., and Crawford Clothes. Monroe Street is visible in the right background. Streamers and ticker tape can be seen in the air and on the road surface. Handwritten black ink text on the verso reads "Downtown Detroit, End of World War II Celebration, August, 1945."
