Print. Black and white photographic print of the Cavalcade of Fashion window display at The J.L. Hudson Company Department Store commemorating the 250th anniversary of the city of Detroit and Hudson's 70th year of business. Two female mannequins and one male mannequin are dressed in period clothing circa 1701. A large mural behind the mannequins depicts men and women dressed in their finery and attending a large gathering. Signage in the foreground reads, 'Cavalcade of Fashion Through 250 Years, Fabulous fashions in highly embellished brocades and velvets, highlighted in the era of Louis XV. the nobility of France reveled in courtly balls and receptions while in the distant outpost of Detroit a new city was being established." the date and photographic sequence number are printed on the bottom of the recto, "7-10-51; 25243-4x."
