Print. Black and white photographic print of the Cavalcade of Fashion window display at The J.L. Hudson Company Department Store commemorating the 250th anniversary of the city of Detroit and Hudson's 70th year of business. Two female mannequins and a young boy mannequin are featured in period dress circa 1851. A statue is adjacent to the boy, and a large mural is featured in the right background. Signage in the foreground reads, "Cavalcade of Fashion Through 250 Years, This period saw more of the elaborate, ornamental fashions through perhaps on a lesser scale. It was hard to travel involving carrying one's saddle bags while riding horseback - a far cry from the comfortable coaches of the old world." The date and photographic sequence number are printed on the bottom of the recto, "7-10-51; 25243-5x."
