Print. Black and white photographic print of the Cavalcade of Fashion window display at The J.L. Hudson Company Department Store commemorating the 250th anniversary of the city of Detroit and Hudson's 70th year of business. Two female mannequins, a male mannequin, and small girl mannequin are dressed in period clothing circa 1858. A large mural and table are featured in the background. Signage in the foreground reads, "Cavalcade of Fashion Through 250 Years. A fashion change was seen in the Lincoln era. Less ornamental dress for men is to be noted. Fashions or women were of find fabrics but les padding was used. Gracious living was the trend and the famous 'Russell House' was the center of much activity in old Detroit. It was the era of the horse-drawn coach." The date and photographic sequence number are printed on the bottom of the recto, "7-10-51; 25243-6x."
