Print. Black and white photographic print of the Cavalcade of Fashion window display at The J.L. Hudson Company Department Store commemorating the 250th anniversary of the city of Detroit and Hudson's 70th year of business. Two female mannequins and one male mannequin are dressed in period clothing circa 1840. A large mural and home furnishings are featured behind the mannequins. Signage in the foreground reads, "Cavalcade of Fashion Through 250 Years. In the 1800x, fashions were still elegant, still heavily padded and embroidered. Crinolines made them especially bouffant and bonnets were approved millinery fashion. Although the American flag was now flying over Detroit, its citizens still remembered the great courtyards and places of the old world." The date and photographic sequence number are printed on the bottom of the recto, "7-10-51; 25243-7x."
