Print. Black and white photographic print of the Cavalcade of Fashion window display at The J.L. Hudson Company Department Store commemorating the 250th anniversary of the city of Detroit and Hudson's 70th year of business. Two female mannequins and a young boy mannequin are dressed in period clothing circa 1780. A mural of Marie Antoinette at an event is featured behind the mannequins. Signage in the foreground reads, "Cavalcade of Fashion Through 250 Years. During the time of Marine Antoinette, lavish colorful fashions were worn by both men and women. Great balls and grad dames were significant of this era. In Detroit, however, only memories of these happy times were allowed. Then too, the fort was now in possession of the English and changes were taking place. The date and photographic sequence number are printed on the bottom of the recto, "7-10-51; 25243-8x."
