Two wreathes have been laid beneath it. The cannons are on the left and right edges of the frame. Water sprays from the fountains behind the statue. Further back along the central strip, several people are seated in the grass. On the west side of Washington Avenue is the Washington Boulevard Roller Rink. The Gas Consumers Association and St. Aloysius Catholic Church are on the east side of Washington Avenue.
