A large promotional poster featured the image of author, S.L.A. Marshall, and several military vehicles are affixed to the rear wall. Signage in the foreground reads, "Armies on Wheels, by S.L.A. Marshall, Military Center for the Detroit News, during authors visitation week, $2.50; Mezzanine, Farmer." Affixed signage in the foreground of the window display note's the department store's anniversary, "1881 * The J.L. Hudson Company's Sixtieth Jubilee Year * 1941." The date, photographic sequence number and photographer's name are printed on the bottom of the recto, "11-22-41; 18532-x; Davis B. Hillmer."
