One sepia-toned photograph of two Detroit Fire Department fire engines. The two vehicles are parked on a residential street (Arcadia Street) near a fire hydrant in the vicinity of Fromm's Hardware Store which was located at 8686 Grand River Avenue. The engines were responding to a fire at the store. Parked cars and residential houses can be seen in the background Handwritten blue ink text on the verso reads "Engines 31 & 42, working at Fromm's Hardware, Detroit, Jan., 1940."
