The elevated view looks westward from the YMCA Building, located at the northeast corner of East Adams and Witherell Streets, and shows a view along Elizabeth Street at the left edge of the photo. The intersection at Woodward Avenue can be seen near the lower left corner. The decorative white stone front of the Grand Circus Theatre can be seen on the west side of Woodward in the lower center area of the image, and many commercial/office buildings can be seen in the background. The 13-story Michigan Central Railroad Station is faintly visible on the horizon near the left edge of the photo. Handwritten pencil text on the verso reads "From window of YMCA looking toward Michigan Central Station."
