Print, Photographic
Print. (2 Copies.) Black and white photographic print of the Homes For Tomorrow exhibition at The J.L. Hudson Company Department Store. Five of the eight home models displayed are featured in the image. One panel includes a floorplan of the home and reads, "Equal Rights House, Victoria and Samuel Homsey, Architects. Here is this house a special point is made of the parents-children situation. One side of the house is devoted to the former; one side to the latter; the kitchen making a close and commanding connection between the two. The parents' terrace for entertaining is off the living room, and their private terrace off their bedroom; while the children's protected play space is just outside their playroom, whose glass door swings up to the ceiling. Only the freedom of modern planning and the flexibility of modern construction make possible such a house arrangement; mass production being the clue to lower cost. From Ladies' Home Journal." The photographic sequence number and photographer's name are printed on the bottom of the recto, "22316-5x; Davis B. Hillmer."
