Two men and two children stand on the wharf beside the boat. Another man, wearing a peaked cap stands holding a bicycle. The Naval Reserve training vessel GALLIPOLIS (PC-778) is docked in the background further along the wharf. A pair of long buildings, and a chest of life rings are also visible along the wharf. The photo has beveled edges. "MAR 58," is printed in the center of the top border. "'Ottawa' of the Arnold Transit Co., Mackinac Island, Mich. Aug 3, 1949" is handwritten and "Photo by B.H. Nichols Neg. No. 376," is stamped on the verso.
