Print. Black and white photographic print of a Presidential Campaign button window display at The J.L. Hudson Company Department Store. A papier-mâché donkey and an elephant are displayed on their hindquarters between cases of campaign buttons. Buttons from many differing presidential elections are featured including Willkie, Dewey, Truman, McKinley, Bryan, Roosevelt, Eisenhower, Taft, Harriman, Warren, Ewing, Grant and many others. Signage in the central foreground reads, "It's a Matter of Opinion, One man thinks his candidate is 'Just the Ticket,' Another can't agree, It's still a matter of opinion." Also, neighboring smaller signage reads, "These Campaign Buttons are from the collection of Mr. R.H. Van Order who started his collection September 15, 1897 with the button of McKinley." The date, photographic sequence number, company name, and photographer's name are printed on the bottom of the recto, "10-29-52; 25609-x; The J.L. Hudson Company; Photography by Davis B. Hillmer."
