Black and white photo of the Dr. Joseph DeHoratiis Monument on the traffic island in the center of the intersection Warren Avenue, Gratiot Avenue, and East Grand Boulevard, as taken from the stone walkway leading from the sideway on the northwest side of Gratiot Avenue. The inscription on the stonework reads, "Dr. Joseph DeHoratiis, Born 1879, Died 1943, With Christian charity he devoted his life to assuage the suffering of his fellowmen, his life moved ever upward by dint of sacrifice. Erected by the Italian Americans of Detroit, 1945." Homes and parked cars on the west side of East Grand Boulevard are visible in the background on the left. A sign that reads, "Take it Easy," with the image of a hand pointed upward with its palm facing out, is posted on a streetlight pole on the right.
