Black and white photo of the 32-pound cannon on an engraved stone carriage serving as a monument to Commodore Oliver Hazard Perry's victory at the Battle of Lake Erie in the War of 1812, in front of City Hall on Campus Martius. The carriage was shot at a three-quarters angle so both the inscription "Perry's Victory, Lake Erie, September 10th 1813," on the side, and "Presented by Citizens of Detroit, April 12th 1872," beneath the barrel are visible.
