Black and white photo of the tree-planting ceremony conducted with several French dignitaries on March 5, 1958 as part of the celebration of the 300th anniversary of Antoine Laumet de La Mothe, sieur de Cadillac's birth, coinciding with the dedication of the Moran House exhibit, at the Detroit Historical Museum. Mayor of de Castelsarrasin Adrien Alary leans forward holding a shovel, as another man, presumably George S. Doustin, mayor of Saint-Nicolas-de-la-Grave, stands beside him also holding a shovel. A group of children are gathered around. George Stark stands on the far left, and Henry Brown stands on the far right. The Main Branch of the Detroit Public Library stands across Kirby Street in the background. "City of Detroit, Dept. of Parks and Recreation, Water Board Bldg. 735 Randolph St. Detroit 26, Mich." is stamped on the verso.
