The Wayne County building stands at the far end of Cadillac Square. The Russell House stands on the corner of Cadillac Square and the southern branch of Woodward Avenue. The Misfit Clothing Parlor is among the storefronts on the eastern side of Woodward Avenue, south of Campus Martius. The Bagley Memorial Fountain stands at the foot of Fort Street in the lower right corner of the image. Numerous streetcars, pedestrians, and horse-drawn wagons are throughout the scene. Hudson's Big Store; and H.C. Weber and Company, Hardware; as well as billboards advertising the Temple Theatre, D.M. Ferry and Company, and the Detroit News are visible in the background.
