Print. Black and white photographic print of a window display at The J.L. Hudson Company Department Store, for the 2nd International Model Plane Contest. A young boy stands proud with his model airplane, while observing the differing trophies varying and plaques in size and shape, which will be awarded at the event. Model airplanes are also visible in the central foreground and hanging from the ceiling. Signage featured in the window reads, "2nd International Model Plane Contest Sponsored by Plymouth Motor Corporation, In Conjunction with the Aero Club of Michigan, August 18 to 23, 1948, Detroit." Also, "Choose Your Model Kit From the Large Selection on Our 12th Floor." A series of international flags adorns the rear of the display. The date, photographic sequence number, company name, and photographer's name is printed on the bottom of the recto, "8-16-48; 23683-x; The J.L. Hudson Company; Photography by Davis B. Hillmer."
