Black and white photographic print of Detroit's Young Man of the Year recognition wall, exhibited at the Detroit Historical Museum. Photographs of dignified Detroiters are displayed on the left and right side of the wall, with one large photograph of the 1954 honoree, George W. Matthews, displayed in the center. Signage below the photo of Mr. Matthews reads, "Detroit's Young Man of the Year: Each year a representative group of Detroit's business and civic leaders meet to select the young man between the ages of 21 and 35, who by his outstanding record of community service and his demonstration of initiative and leadership ability, best deserves the title, 'Outstanding Young Man of the Year.' These men, the award winners of yesterday and today, makes certain the continued vitality of 'Dynamic Detroit.' Sponsored by the Detroit Junior Board of Commerce."
