Grant III (left center), and three unknown gentlemen right of the plaques affixed to the one-time home of President Ulysses S. Grant. The fully visible lower plaque reads, ""This One-Time Residence of Ulysses Simpson Grant presented to the State of Michigan as a Modest Monument to a Great Man, by the Michigan Mutual Liability Company, 1936." Also, handwritten on the verso, "U.S. Grant House, 1950."
