Black and white photographic print of Mr. Charles Brady King and two unidentified women standing on the steps of an unknown brick structure which a plaque noting King's automobile success has been affixed. The plaque reads, "The Lauer's Machine Shop located on this site, Charles Brady King, designed and built a gasoline powered automobile on March 6, 1896, he drive this automobile which was the first to operate and travel on the streets of Detroit; This tablet presented to the City of Detroit by The J.L. Hudson Company on the occasion of the Detroit Automotive Jubilee, 1946."
