Black and white photographic print of the historic marker plaque affixed to a wall citing the gateway surrounding Fort Pontchartrain. The plaque reads, "Near this site was the gateway through the Palisade surrounding Fort Pontchartrain du Detroit Founded July 24, 1701 by Antoine de la Mothe Cadillac, to hold "THE STRAIT" for France. Place 1951 By Fort Pontchartrain Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution."
