Black and white photographic print of a plaque which was affixed to the façade of a building; the plaque reads, "This Tablet Marks the Site of Detroit's First Post Office Building, The first government-built post office building in Detroit was opened here on January 30, 1860, and for the following thirty-seven years it housed both federal courts and post office. President Jefferson established the first post office in a rented building at Detroit, January 1, 1803. Presented to the city of Detroit in the month of September, 1926."
