The dedication plaque reads, "Kresge Exhibit Hall, Dedicated July 24, 1968, Gift of the Kresge Foundation in the amount of $500,000 fostered by the Detroit Historical Society, matched by the city of Detroit, Dedicated to the enjoyment and enrichment of the citizens of the Detroit area, for the further appreciation of our heritage.
