Print, Photographic

Large sepia-toned photographic print of an aerial shot of a hydroplane race in the Detroit River with the Detroit Yacht Club on Belle Isle at the bottom of the frame, rows of boats carrying spectators in the channel to the east, and the riverfront of Detroit at the top. Two hydroplanes are at opposite ends of a turn, defined by the lead boat's wake, on the left edge of the frame. Spectators line the shores of the marina district to the north. The Belle Isle water treatment intake building is visible in the river on the right edge of the frame. The "seven sisters" of Detroit Edison Conner's Creek Power Station stand near the shore at the upper right. The Chrysler De Soto Jefferson Avenue Assembly Plant is in the background at the upper left.
