Sepia-toned photo of Lee Schoenith standing on the hydroplane GALE II, near its bow, as it is moored next to a pier. Schoenith wears a GALE t-shirt, looks to his left, and has his arms outstretched, with the end of a rope in his left hand, and his right just out of frame. The hydroplane SUCH CRUST is in the background. Cars and a small long building are visible on the shore further in the background. "He's on U-51," is handwritten along the top border of the recto. A note that accompanied the photo when it was previously housed inside an album read, "Lee Schoenith on Gale II 1951."
