Sepia-toned photo of the GALE IV (recognizable thanks to the painting of W.D. Gale Electric Company mascot Reddy Kilowatt on its tailfin) and another hydroplane--possibly the DORA MY SWEETIE--racing on the Detroit River, with Belle Isle in the background. The hydroplane closer to the camera lags slightly behind the further GALE IV. A note that accompanied the photo when it was previously housed inside an album theorized as to the boat's identities: "DORA, MY SWEETIE? GALE IV?."
