Print. Black and white photographic print of a window display featuring Samson tables and chairs sold at The J.L. Hudson Company Department Store. Two differing room displays are featured in the single window display depicting the varying ways Samson tables and chairs may be used. The left side of the window features a female mannequin, dressed in daywear appears to be setting her table for breakfast. A large drape of fabric is featured atop one of the chairs, and two copies of Better Homes and Garden magazine is featured in the lower right corner. Two differing signs in the foreground of the left window read, "You Are Invited to See Michigan On Canvas, An Art Collection of Present-Day Life in Michigan, Auditorium, Twelfth Floor; Fore the Living-Dining Room Guests Draw Up to a Damson Table for Delightful Snacks." Signage affixed to the divider in the center of the window display reads, "Samson Gives You Room Service, -A Decorating Scheme for Budget Homes, -Colorful, All-Purpose Folding Tables and Chairs, Tables $12.95 each, and Chairs $7.95 each, Furniture, Ninth Floor, Farmer." Depicted in the right half of the window is a young boy who is utilizing the table and chairs as a desk for studying. A typewriter and books are laid out on the table top. A drape of fabric is also featured from the ceiling to the floor. Signage in the right foreground reads, "For the Boy's Room, Study Desk or Play Table." The date, photographic sequence number, company name and photographer's name are printed on the bottom of the recto, "2-26-48; 23440-2x; The J.L. Hudson Company; Photography by Davis B. Hillmer."
