Print. Black and white photographic print of a window display featuring Country-Style living room décor sold at The J.L. Hudson Company Department Store. Visible in the left side of the window are a father and son, whom are standing on either side of the mantle and fireplace. A painting of a schooner is affixed above the mantle, and a musket is affixed below the painting, two silver candlesticks are placed on opposing sides of the mantle. Two chairs, similar in style, but in differing upholsteries are also in front of the fireplace, an occasional table is between the two chairs and has a silver tea service set upon it. An end table with an illuminated lamp neighbors the far chair, and is in front of the boy. The mother stands on the right side of the display in front of the buffet, which features dinner service ware and a decanter; the daughter stands in front of a fully dressed dining room table, featuring linens, china, candle sticks, and glassware. Signage adjacent to the table reads, "Make Mine Country-Style, HOME FURNISHINGS in the country manner… warm-hearted, straightforward, adaptable to many moods, here interpreted in Early American Living Room, Dining Room Setting." Smaller signage in the lower right corner of the window reads, "Hudson's will be open Monday evenings until 8:30."
